Is your life museum (shed/storage space) feeling neglected and cluttered? Is there an old bike collecting dust and taking up space? Well there is a solution, you can donate your old bicycle to be refurbished and sold on at low-cost and donated to marginalised members of the community.\
Groups like Good Cycles in Geelong have a mission to advance equality, health and sustainability through bikes and cycling. They use bikes as a vehicle to create meaningful and lasting opportunities for people and communities in need.
Loretta Curtin and Luke Wright founded the organisation 2013, the Bikes are sold on and donated to people who otherwise can’t offered alternate methods of transport. The group is a non-profit organisation, all surplus goes back into the project.
Good Cycle works with people throughout a range of communities who are disadvantaged – including at-risk youth, the long-term unemployed, the disengaged and socially isolated, alcohol and drug rehabilitation centres, youth justice and prisons, and refugees and asylum seekers.
