Recycling reduces the effects of climate change

By January 28, 2020 No Comments

With the growing threat and awareness of climate change, recycling has emerged as one of the major tools to combat it effects. Recycling reduces emissions from decomposition in landfill, saves energy, slows down deforestation and promotes the production of efficient and sustainable products.

Climate change explained

Put simply, climate change refers to significant change in measurements of temperature, wind and participation. Climate change can be a natural occurrence, but scientists believe that the major factors of recent warming are caused by human activities including the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions. We can all help reduce the effects of climate change by implementing measures in the household and workplace.

How is recycling so effective?

Recycling requires little effort but has a massive impact. It is estimated that 25% of yearly emissions is caused by landfill and deforestation. By reusing our products we reduce the need for raw material production, in turn reducing energy consumption and emissions.

The more we can recycle and lower our footprint the better, be sure to implement as many recycling measures and programs as possible. Play your part by re-evaluating and implementing changes in yo
